Quartz Crystals and Tuning Fork Crystals – precise and constant

We supply quartz crystals and tuning fork crystals from our own production for industrial applications where the highest accuracy and reliability have top priority.

We convince our customers through sustainability, reliability and availability of a wide range of components.

In addition, we offer a long-term delivery guarantee of at least 20 years, enabling us to support both tried-and-tested applications and new trends.

Crystals for demanding requirements

  • Smallest possible sizes

  • Reliable signal transmission

  • Standard tolerances of only +/-10 ppm at +25 °C → more accurate switching due to tighter basic tolerance

  • Standard tolerances of only +/-15 ppm at -40 °C to +85 °C → lower deviation in the temperature range

  • Low ESR values → lower current consumption of the circuit due to better transient response and lower power requirements

  • Extended temperature ranges from -40 °C to +150 °C → for automotive and special applications

  • Low aging of only +/-2 ppm in the first year

  • Long-term aging guarantee for certain applications such as smart metering

  • AEC-Q200 qualified crystals for automotive applications can be found in the store

What are Quartz Crystals?

A quartz crystal is based on an artificial quartz crystal and serves as an electronic component for oscillator circuits, generating electrical oscillations with a defined frequency. Its operation is based on the principle of electromechanical resonance of the installed piezo-electric and quartz crystal contacted with electrodes.

Due to the piezo-electric properties of quartz, it performs precisely defined oscillations (resonance) under the influence of alternating electrical voltages. Electrically, the quartz then behaves like an oscillating circuit with high Q and thus acts as a clock generator in many applications with the appropriate circuitry.

What are Quartz Crystals needed for?

Quartz crystals are used in circuits where a very accurate and constant frequency is required, e.g. in most transmitters, in clocks, microcontrollers, cell phones, computers as well as in frequency counters and digital signal generators.

A quartz crystal alone determines only the frequency. Since a quartz crystal in itself is neither an oscillator nor a clock generator, it must be operated in an appropriate circuit to represent a crystal-stabilized oscillator circuit (crystal oscillator).
